Phoebe Gannon and Sophie Sturgeon announced in Pro Landscaper’s 2025 ‘30 Under 30’

Ground Control are proud to share that both Phoebe Gannon and Sophie Sturgeon have been announced on the ‘Pro Landscaper’s 30 Under 30: The Next Generation’ list.
The list has helped to “propel them [winners] into the limelight, with most of the winners going on to bigger and better things since collecting their award”, and this is a fantastic achievement for both Phoebe and Sophie.
Phoebe Gannon, Assistant Contract Manager, started a graduate rotation in Ground Control’s 'Operations Graduate Programme’, where she sparked a strong interest in landsacpe construction. From here, she not just settled into the role, but thrived. From the outset, she has been delivering insightful feedback and excellent work on projects, such as HS2 habitat creation, making her a valued member of the team. Looking beyond her role, Phoebe is an advocate of our graduate scheme, champions women in construction, and is dedicated to inspiring and developing the next generation of talent in the industry.
Also within our LDE division, Sophie Sturgeon, Landscape Architect, has progressed from Graduate Landscape Architect to Landscape Architect specialising in concept design across key sectors, including schools and care homes. In these sectors, driven by a passion for connecting people with nature, she has helped Ground Control create essential SuDS and exciting play areas. Alongside her concept design work, Sophie supports the design team with the technical delivery of projects that make a lasting impact, and hopes to continue designing spaces that prioritise inclusivity, biodiversity and long-term sustainability.
On being announced on Pro Landscaper’s 30 Under 30 list, Pheobe shared:
It is an honour to be recognised as a 30 under 30 candidate among such an inspiring group of rising professionals shaping the future of our industry. Reflecting on how far I’ve come in a short space of time fills me with immense pride, and to see that recognised is particularly special. I am incredibly grateful for the fantastic support from the team at Ground Control. The construction industry continues to captivate me with its energy, innovation, and the tangible impact we make every day, seeing places transform in front of my very own eyes. I’m excited to keep pushing boundaries in my career and committed to paving the way for more women to thrive and lead in construction.
On her inclusion on Pro Landscaper’s 30 Under 30 list, Sophie commented:
I’m incredibly proud to be recognised in this year’s 30 Under 30. Being included alongside such inspiring individuals motivates me to take every opportunity to grow, collaborate and create work that makes a meaningful difference. My ambition is to contribute to projects that not only enhance places today, but also inspire future generations to value and protect the landscapes around them.
