Ground Control has announced that Help for Heroes will be its Charity of the Year for 2025/26, marking a new partnership focused on supporting veterans living with physical and mental health challenges as a result of their service.

Together, the Ground Control team has set an ambitious fundraising target of £55,000 to help fund the charity’s vital work with former servicemen and women.

As part of the partnership, employees will take part in fundraising and volunteering initiatives throughout the year. In a creative twist, Ground Control will also donate £1 for every Amber Health & Safety alert raised by staff, an innovative way to boost donations while encouraging strong safety practices across the business.

Jason Knights, CEO of Ground Control, said:

Supporting charities is part of who we are, it reflects our belief in Human Nature at Its Best. Help for Heroes’ mission of resilience and community truly resonates with us. We’re proud to support their work raising awareness, helping veterans, and expanding their reach into local communities.
As an employer of veterans, we know the skills and dedication they bring. This partnership is a natural fit with our values of integrity, community, and valuing each other, and I’m excited to see how our people get involved and what we can achieve together.

Through EverCare, Ground Control’s CSR arm, the company leads a wide range of community and environmental projects, from supporting food banks and schools to tree planting and volunteering activities. Over the past year alone, employees have contributed more than 1,500 volunteer hours, with every colleague entitled to two paid volunteer days each year. The company also matches employee fundraising efforts pound for pound through its match-funding scheme, doubling the impact of every donation.

Last year’s fundraising efforts raised more than £50,000 for the RNLI and the company took part in the Freedom Games, raising over £3000 for Modern Slavery charities, STOP THE TRAFFIK and Justice and Care.

This strong culture of giving back means engagement in community work remains consistently high and the partnership with Help for Heroes will add a new focus on supporting veterans and their families. Over the coming year, colleagues will join Help for Heroes campaigns and volunteer at its events nationwide.

Andrea Prout, a veteran who served eight years in the Army and now works as a Learning and Development Associate at Ground Control, said:

I feel proud and honoured that Ground Control has chosen Help for Heroes as our charity this year. It strengthens our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant and deepens our support for the wider armed forces community.

Help for Heroes supports veterans and their families with their physical and mental health, welfare, and social needs and has already transformed the lives of tens of thousands across the UK.

Ground Control’s partnership with Help for Heroes reinforces the company’s commitment to leaving the world in a better place than we found it while empowering communities across the UK to thrive.
