We teamed up with Reside with Progress (RWP) to share how our successful collaboration has enabled our grounds maintenance services, delivered by our fantastic field teams, to benefit RWP tenants.

Karen Lamy, Key Account Manager, frames the relationship and introduces Craig, Field Team Owner-Operative, and shares the blog created with RWP.

Karen, how do you work with field teams, such as Craig's?

Our roles are to support both the client and the field team to fulfil the contract, and to enable any extra works requirements they might have. Through these interactions, we get to hear about and see the fantastic work that teams such as Craig’s complete.

We also work with our Contracts Managers, who provide regular support to their Field Teams.

What is your relationship with Reside with Progress?

I manage the PPM contract across the portfolio. This includes regular communication and catch-up meetings, handling day-to-day queries, resolving visit or access issues, and acting as the main point of contact for any challenges the company may face. I also ensure that any extra works that RWP requests are priced and completed to the highest possible standard.

I am essentially the key liaison between RWP and our operational teams, ensuring smooth communication and delivery, which is why I am particularly proud of this positive relationship.

Why do you like working on these types of projects?

I enjoy working on contracts like this because they’re relationship-driven. No two days are the same, and I get to problem-solve and be proactive to the client's needs in real time, which keeps things engaging.

I also value the opportunity to build strong, trust-based relationships with the client across multiple sites, which allows for greater collaboration and long-term success. It’s rewarding to play a central role in keeping their operations running smoothly and to see the results from the work we do.

We initially began working with Reside Housing in 2005 across six locations, and we moved to Progress Housing Group, which RWP is part of, in 2022. Ground Control is an external maintenance provider supporting businesses to create better landscapes, maintain their outside spaces, and sustain biodiversity for the future. We are a maintenance provider with over 50 years of experience in grounds maintenance and land management. Our services go beyond the traditional maintenance and include arboriculture, ecology services, biodiversity enhancements, and winter gritting. Certified by B-Corp, we use our business as a force for good and are committed to becoming net-zero by 2038.

Ground Control collaborates with RWP

Ground Control now looks after around 200 sites for RWP, equating to around 3700 planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits per year.  As part of our delivery model, we work alongside local field teams. The teams adhere to our quality, safety and environmental onboarding and practices, and it enables passionate businesses to work in their local community. Working with RWP, we have seen our team working at an RWP supported living home in Norfolk complimented for their quality of work. This team has been able to expand their work across 14 locations for RWP.

Craig, Field Team Owner-Operative, in the Norfolk-based field team was recently highly commended for the completion of preventative maintenance (PPM) work at one of our supported living homes in Norfolk. Working across multiple sites, Craig’s work was recognised by Josh Murray, RWP’s contracts manager, and this was echoed by Emma Last, Service Lead at Ambient.

I just wanted to say how amazing Craig is from Ground Control. He is always so happy, helpful, and always goes above and beyond. As a business, we work across multiple sites, but Craig’s work in Norfolk has been highlighted as tenants enjoy seeing Craig and watching him work. Maintenance work at this location include hedge cutting, leaf clearance, shrub pruning, and ensuring the outdoor space is safe and accessible for tenants.
