Ground Control has reached another significant milestone in its corporate social responsibility (CSR) journey with Help for Heroes, raising more than £75,000 for our Charity of the Year.

Initially aiming to raise £55,000, this achievement has been made possible through a combination of employee fundraising events, charitable donations, and matched funding from EverCare. The milestone reflects Ground Control's ongoing commitment to making a positive social impact and supporting the Armed Forces community across the UK.

Employees Driving Meaningful Change

Since our last update, colleagues from across the business have taken part in a range of fundraising activities to support Help for Heroes, demonstrating the power of employee engagement and community-focused initiatives.

Recent fundraising highlights include:

  • Austin Brown, Managing Director, and Anthony Price, Regional Operations Director, from our Infrastructure Division cycling 200 miles over two days, travelling from Doncaster to Billericay.
  • Generous donations from attendees at our annual Strategy Conference.
  • A fundraising and awareness stall at Tesco Headquarters on Armed Forces Day, helping to raise funds while showcasing our support for veterans and serving personnel.

These activities have contributed to our growing fundraising total while reinforcing our commitment to social value and community engagement.

Supporting Veterans Through Our CSR Strategy

Help for Heroes believes that "too many veterans are left to fight for the support they need: mentally, physically and financially" and works to help veterans find the peace and support they deserve.

At the end of 2025, Ground Control committed to supporting Help for Heroes through fundraising, awareness campaigns, and resource sharing. As a Forces Friendly employer, this partnership aligns closely with our wider CSR strategy, helping us create lasting positive impact for veterans, service leavers, and their families.

As we continue our fundraising efforts throughout the year, we remain committed to supporting the vital work of Help for Heroes and making a meaningful difference to those who have served our country.
