Working Together to Help our Communities
Ground Control recently teamed up with Enfield Council and local community members to complete the planting in a regeneration project at Angel Gardens. The event was attended by over 150 members of the local community of all ages; coming together to create an enjoyable neighbourhood for all.
Ground Control’s Key Account Manager Alison Rogers, Contracts Manager Paul Conley and team member Richard Pyeiah, assisted with Phase 2 of the project: the installation and planting of over 200 plug plants in raised beds around the playground. A mixture of vegetables and herbs were planted, and local residents were encouraged to sign up to a community group that will be responsible for the long term care of the raised beds.
Further engaging with the community, Enfield Council arranged arts, crafts and face painting for the children. A team from Healthy Enfield were also on site offering demonstrations of the new fitness equipment that has been installed in the playground area.
Ground Control’s Key Account Manager, Alison Rogers, was delighted to take part:
“I really enjoyed the day; it’s a great way to bring the community together. It was good to see how the work that Ground Control is doing is benefitting local communities.”
The Angel Gardens Project will continue with Phases 3,4 and 5, which will include a foot/cycle pathway through the site, improvements to the existing watercourse, extensive tree planting, natural play areas, and a skate/BMX and art project space.
