Ground Control is delighted to announce that we have become the first company to be awarded the new Met Office Winter Gritting Gold Quality Mark. The accreditation follows on from another landmark achievement as we became the first Winter Maintenance provider to utilise the Met Office OpenSite GOLD package.
With innovation being at the forefront of all we do at Ground Control, we are delighted to lead the way in delivering an outstanding Winter Maintenance service for our clients. Ground Control’s Winter Maintenance Operations Manager, Andy Simpson, was proud to receive this exclusive award;
“I believe the Met Office is the best winter maintenance forecaster in the business and the Gold Level Quality Mark separates the best from the rest for Winter Maintenance. With the British climate being notoriously unpredictable, it is essential that we have a weather forecaster that we can rely on and the Met Office has been a fantastic partner over the years.”
The Gold level is highest standard of the Quality Mark scheme and our clients are sure to reap the rewards of this fantastic achievement. Richard Stedall, Road Account Manager at the Met Office, spoke about the unique partnership between the Met Office and Ground Control that has allowed us to provide an unrivalled service;
“We have been working with Ground Control for five years now, since the Autumn of 2010. During this time we have developed the OpenSite forecast service to fully meet the needs of Ground Control’s customers. Maintaining that drive to be at the forefront of the winter gritting market, Ground Control were the first winter service provider to sign up for our comprehensive OpenSite GOLD package, which offers unrivalled high-resolution forecasts for the whole of the UK.
Now, Ground Control is the first company to be awarded the new Met Office Winter Gritting Quality Mark (Gold level). This Quality Mark scheme has been set up to allow gritting companies to show their customers that they take an appropriate forecast service for road surface temperatures and conditions. To qualify for the highest level, Ground Control have also received appropriate road meteorology training through the world renowned Met Office College, and take at least one supplementary Met Office service to aid winter maintenance.”
We are currently recruiting more teams to help deliver our award winning service. If you are interested in joining one of the top “1000 Companies to Inspire Britain” get in touch today by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
