‘The National Skills Academy for Construction’ Launches!
Ground Control’s National HSQE Compliance Manager, Mark Curry, and Senior Construction Manager, Neil Walby, recently attended The National Skills Academy for Construction’s launch event at Manhattan Loft Gallery, London.
Lead by CITB, The National Skills Academy for Construction is a work-based learning approach that enables employers to engage with local communities and raise the skills of their staff and the wider workforce at the same time.
The main objectives of this programme are to create employment and apprenticeship opportunities, tackle skills shortages, improve the image of the industry and increase wider engagement. Bouygues UK are supporting the National Skills Academy for Construction in the delivery of on-site skills and training, opportunity creation and employment opportunities leaving a lasting legacy for the communities in which we work.
Pictured with Corporate Responsibility Advisor of the programme, Luciana Campos da Silva at the event on 29th September 2015, Mark and Neil expressed their excitement of the Academy, “being the ideal opportunity for employers to define standards of training and help individuals progress within the industry.”
National HSQE Compliance Manager, Mark Curry who attended the event, said:
“We are looking forward to embracing the new scheme and speaking with potential candidates that may fall in line with this initiative. It is vitally important to engage with young workers to highlight the potential health risks in the workplace. It is a great programme that will benefit all.”
