Redbourn play area picks up Community Category Award
Ground Control’s completed construction project at Redbourn’s East Common play area has recently been awarded a Community Category Award from the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE).
Judge Judith Watson, speaking to Hertfordshire Mercury, said: “We have all seen old and worn-out play areas in our communities. What this community decided to do was start again from scratch and make a new play area which is accessible to all.”
The new play area is now accessible to all children up to the age of 12.
Works at this project included the removal and replacement of existing equipment as well as the construction of a new path to increase accessibility within the area.
This is a fantastic result for what was a challenging project after we had to overcome a variety of difficulties during the construction period, including exceptionally long periods of rainfall. Our dedication to the cause ensured we completed the project safely and on time despite the severe weather conditions.
