Mark Curry named as RoSPA Guardian Angel
RoSPA’s Guardian Angel Awards celebrates individuals who have made a demonstrable difference in the world of health and safety and accident prevention, through personal initiative, diligence, enthusiasm and commitment.
With great hard work and dedication, Mark certainly goes above and beyond in the name of safety, inside and outside of the business.
As HSQE Manager within Landscape Construction, Mark tirelessly travels the country visiting sites on various complex projects including those outside his remit. He is a devoted coach to 41 Managers, 12 HSQE colleagues and mentors site operatives (110+ site teams); encouraging continuous learning, development and motivating for improvement. Mark enthusiastically develops new initiatives which are pioneering in industry, such as Mental Health First Aid, Drug & Alcohol Awareness (+ testing), I.A.P (Injury Avoidance Programme) and Face Fit Testing. He also piloted the use and training of Cable Avoidance ECAT4+, championing a £20k+ investment for the business.
His willingness to share and reach out to others has led to him to be a Trustee of Safety Groups UK. He is also a key member of the IOSH South East Branch Committee, Welding Fume Health Partnership (WFHP) Health and Chemicals Unit (HSE), Construction Dust Partnership (CDP) Health and Chemicals Unit (HSE), Noise & Vibration Partnership (NVPG) Operational Strategy Branch (HSE) and is Publicity Officer/Executive Committee Member of Kent Health & Safety Group. Mark is currently leading a construction dust project with the HSL which will promote awareness of silica dust and the long/short term implications.

Mark collected his award at RoSPA’s annual awards ceremony at ExCeL London on June 19th, alongside Ground Control’s 8th Gold Medal Award.
