Two of London’s most iconic attractions; Tower of London and National Maritime Museum, as well as Croydon Cemetery have been recognised in the 2017 London in Bloom Awards.

Her Majesty’s Fortress and Palace, the Tower of London, the National Maritime Museum, and Croydon Cemetery, all maintained by Ground Control, have received awards for their immaculate presentation.

London in Bloom is about celebrating and recognising the passion Londoners have for greening our Capital city; where boroughs, communities, residents, and businesses work together to improve the environment of London to make a greener, cleaner place to live, work and visit.

In this year’s awards, the Tower of London was issued with a Gold award, marking the site standard as “Outstanding”, with the National Maritime Museum and Croydon Cemeteries picking up Silver Gilt Awards representing a “Very Good” achievement.

Contract Manager, Peter Mountford who oversees these contracts expressed his delight at achieving this special recognition;

“To have this level of maintenance recognised and validated once again by London in Bloom is very rewarding. We are delighted to have three of our most historic and celebrated sites presented with top level awards by this prestigious campaign. It is a real testament to our long standing relationships with our clients and the teams on site, who work hard every day to ensure the grounds are the best they can be.”

These awards follow a great few months for Ground Control, with the National Maritime Museum and Tower of London both winning British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) Awards for their outstanding grounds, in addition to the National Maritime Museum becoming the first museum ever to achieve a Green Flag Award!
