Ground Control Teams up with Tesco for the BBC’s DIY SOS Big Build – Veterans’ Special
Ground Control, one of the UK’s fastest growing, privately owned, external landscape solution providers, has teamed up with Tesco to supply landscape personnel to the BBC One two-part programme ‘DIY SOS: The Big Build Veterans’ Special’.
Billed as the DIY SOS team’s ‘most ambitious’ project to date, the venture will see the transformation of eight existing houses into specially adapted bespoke homes for Armed Forces veterans, as well as the landscaping of the East Manchester streets they belong to: incorporating a total of 62 houses. The big reveal took place on Friday 25th September, and will be aired on BBC One Wednesday 14th October and Wednesday 21st October at 8pm.
Marcus Watson, Managing Director of Ground Control, explains: “We are very pleased to be able to provide both our personnel and landscaping expertise to this worthy project. There are a significant amount of empty properties across the country, so turning a derelict Manchester street into housing for Armed Forces veterans is not only an excellent project for those requiring them, it will also help restore the local community to its former glory.”
Ground Control supplied a number of landscapers to assist with the gardening and landscaping throughout the entire project.
