Ground Control team up with Severn Trent to help a school in need
Last month, Ground Control attended St Christopher’s Catholic Primary School in South Staffordshire to help restore a destroyed bark area. The school had recently installed new outside gym equipment for the students to enjoy, however, due to lots of use and flooding in the area, the bark was ruined and most of it washed away.
With huge support from our supplier Scotbark in Warrington, Ground Control was able to help by providing and laying the bark they needed to refresh their new gym area and return it to its former glory. The year 6 pupils were invited to help complete the work and were given a lesson by Seven Trent about the importance of protecting our water systems and what not to flush!
Stephen Gough, Contract Specialist at Severn Trent commented that is was great to be involved and see the pleasure the children got from their new gym area. Severn Trent are now engaging with the school and are arranging for their education team to provide insights into the water process and educate them in best practice the ensure they help protect it where they can.
Stewart Harley, Regional Operations Manager, who was involved with the project commented; “Huge thanks to Scotbark, Stephen Gough (Severn Trent Water) Stuart Carter & Dave Parkes from Ground Control who helped plan the event for the school. It was great to team up with our customer and support a local school in this way.”
