Ground Control saves the day
Following our article on fallen trees, our Contracts Manager, Adrian Osman, came to the rescue in the early hours of Thursday morning (15/01/15) to remove a tree that had been felled by high winds in the Torquay area. The tree had actually fallen directly onto a set of railway tracks and would have caused significant delays to Network Rail had this not been dealt with immediately!
Having already attended to two other damaged trees on the day, Adrian showed exceptional professionalism and swiftly responded in attending to the fallen tree. Members of Network Rail were quick to thank Ground Control and Adrian in particular for his work in helping to prevent delays to millions of rail passengers earlier in the day.
Network Rail Offtrack Supervisor, Paul James, was quick to thank Adrian and Ground Control for their quick response;
“My thanks to Adrian for the way he responded to my request for help, with some fallen trees on the TOR branch during the storm on Thursday. It was an early morning call and even though he was not on call, nothing was too much trouble.
His quick response allowed us to re-open the lines in good time. He is always willing to help and is a credit to your company.”
