Ground Control Presented Network Rail Principal Contractor Licence
The new provisional licence gives us more opportunities and may open doors to another area of contracting activity within the Infrastructure Projects & Enhancements (IPE) side of Network Rail, expanding works beyond our current contracts in Network Rail’s Maintenance division. The accreditation now enables Ground Control to bid for projects previously not available to us, and we are excited about the increased scope that having a PCL will bring.
Ground Control is already in discussions with existing customers for opportunities to run projects as bona fide Principal Contractors. It is a condition of the PCL that we will need to be reassessed on completion of a PCL project to move the provisional status of the PCL to full licence status.
Having operated under the old Network Rail Contractors Assurance Case and with Ground Control acting as principal/main contractor under CDM on many of our landscape construction projects, the award of the Network Rail Principal Contractor Licence scheme is a natural progression for us.
We are looking forward to the future and the great potential to widen our existing range of services offered to Network Rail that will follow the granting of the Principal Contractor Licence.
