Ground Control Lead Trailblazer Horticulture and Landscape Apprenticeship
Ground Control is taking a leading role in the development of the new Trailblazer apprenticeship scheme; a new nationwide Government run scheme for the Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture and Landscape industries.
Ground Control’s National Training Manager and Chairman of the Trailblazer sub-group for Horticulture and Landscape, Neil Huck, has been working in partnership with British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) and Lantra to further develop the standards of the scheme.
Setting out to increase the quality of apprenticeships, the Trailblazer scheme requires apprentices to demonstrate their competence through assessment put in place by employers. This will ensure apprenticeships as a whole are more responsive to the requirements of employers and the skill set needed to progress.
Ground Control has employed a number of apprentices over the past 8 years, with many currently in place undertaking NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture and Landscaping at various sites across the UK. With the new scheme set to launch in 2017, the current apprenticeship structure will be withdrawn and Ground Control will take the lead offering the new Horticulture and Landscape scheme.
As Chairman of the Trailblazer sub-group for Horticulture and Landscape, Neil Huck is proud to represent Ground Control playing a vital role in developing the new standards:

Ground Control will play a key part in supporting the industry survey that is set to run from May 5th-26th, gathering input and standards from managers within the wider company.
