Ground Control Joins The EV100
Ground Control has joined as one of the 100 founding members of the EV100, a global initiative to bring together forward-thinking companies committed to accelerating the transition to electric vehicles.
Ground Control join BT Openreach, British Gas (Centrica), Costain, EDF Energy, E.ON, GSK, DHL and many others in this commitment to helping the UK to reach its net-zero goal by both transitioning to 100% electric vehicles and putting in place the infrastructure to achieve this change.
EV100 is working to make electric transport the new normal by 2030 and is The Climate Group’s global initiative bringing together forward-looking companies committed to accelerating the transition to electric vehicles (EVs). The group is celebrating surpassing its first 100 member milestone today.
Sandra Roling, Head of EV100 says: “Joining EV100 is another great step adding to Ground Control’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and using resources efficiently. It is great to see that some of their vehicles are already electric today showing that they are not just talking the talk but walking the walk. We’re excited to have them on board.”
Since an initial investment in 32 Tesla Model 3’s in autumn 2019, Ground Control has already transitioned 100 of its company cars to electric. This investment is part of Ground Control’s company-wide environmental strategy and one that will eventually see all of Ground Control’s vehicles transition to electric.
The commercial priorities for Ground Control when it started to look at transitioning its company vehicle fleet were to ensure employees and the business are no worse off – either financially or in terms of productivity, and in terms of the quality and performance of the vehicle itself. Ground Control’s Tesla fleet has proven to be a major commercial and environmental success story, achieving all of its aims.
As well as being a nationwide provider of landscape construction, grounds and winter maintenance services, Ground Control offers electric vehicle charging solutions, including providing a lease hire option for the supply and installation of charging units.
