Ground Control Develop Lantra Invasives Species Qualification

LANTRA LOGOGround Control has developed a Level 2 Lantra Awards qualification on identification and control of Invasive Species, such as Japanese Knotweed and Giant Hogweed.

The new qualification is accredited with The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual), and Ground Control’s National Training Manager  and lead Assessor, Neil Huck will be able to carry out training and assessments going forward, before it is released to other training providers.

The Level 2 (Operative) units include 2 paper-based modules which will be delivered online: ‘Identification of Non-native Species’ and ‘Identification of Injurious Species’, and one practical assessment: ‘Control and Management of Japanese Knotweed’.

The Level 3 (Supervisors) qualification is being created for 2016 to further the knowledge of our Managers to create management reports and strategic plans.

Neil HuckNeil Huck, Ground Control’s National Training Manager is very pleased to have helped develop the new qualification:

“The new qualification will allow us to train our teams to an industry recognised qualification to identify invasive species and make the appropriate recommendations to our customers to control and prevent their spread.
