Ground Control Combine Auditing and D&A Testing
As the outage was involving some 26 individual arborists, this gave HSQE Managers Mark Curry and Roger Barron an opportunity to carry out auditing and random drugs and alcohol testing on site.
With the coordinated effort of Project Manager Dean Wainwright organising the teams, three teams were audited as part of the process. Areas covered included vehicles and machinery as well as authorisations and valid certification. Work methods and organisation was also taken into account.
Throughout the morning, Mark Curry carried out random D&A testing on 12 individuals explaining the process and procedure, and we were pleased to report that all passed with flying colours.
Ground Control’s HSQE Manager, Roger Barron, was delighted with the successes of the day:
“It was encouraging to receive positive comments from all concerned on the importance of carrying this out, and our UKPN client was also there to witness the auditing and D&A testing first hand passing positive comments on a well organised procedural operation.”
HSQE Manager, Mark Curry, commented,
“It proved to work very well. Moving forward we aim to have more synergy in combining this type of testing along with auditing across the divisions of the business.”
