Ground Control Attend Parliament With Safety Groups UK

Ground Control attend parliament with Safety Groups UK to collect Alan Butler Silver Award on behalf of Kent Health & Safety GroupMark Curry, Ground Control’s National HSQE Compliance Manager, attended Parliament, House of Lords last Monday 25th January for the second year running to collect the prestigious Alan Butler Silver Award on behalf of Kent Health & Safety Group.

The Alan Butler Awards, named after a previous Vice Chairman of the Safety Groups’ Council, recognises high standards of work and celebrates such achievements across the Group’s movement.

Mark, who is Kent Health & Safety Group’s Publicity Manager and newly elected member of Safety Groups UK’s management committee, was joined by Kent H&S Group’s Chairman, Colin Northgate, and executive committee member, Chris Pike, to collect the award. Also in attendance at the prestigious event was John Cairns, Chairman of SGUK, who described Mark as an ‘Ambassador in the industry.’

Mark Curry was delighted with Kent H&S Group’s achievement,

“It was such an honour to attend the House of Lords to collect the award. It is fantastic to receive such great recognition for all the hard work that Kent H&S Group have done to raise Health and Safety awareness. Next year we will be working towards the Gold award, with Kent H&S Group’s main focus points being Health Risks at work along with the HSE Working Well Together Campaigns (WWT). In addition to this, the group’s new incentive is on commercial partnerships, giving the members visibility and relevancy of who we reach out to and the subject areas we focus on. The group has also just become members of the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, as a way to communicate our message via the group in which I will have involvement with.”
