Changing the guard at Ground Control’s winter maintenance department
As many of the fleet of the 7.5 tonne dedicated gritting lorries are now coming to the end of their commercially viable lives, the Winter Maintenance team have now purchased 4 new trucks to replace the fleet that will be operating in and around our London contracts.
The Winter Maintenance team began the journey purchasing the trucks from Chris Hodge commercials in London, having the old box bodies removed before heading up country to Vale engineering who will remove the gritting bodies, refurbish them and add new technology including a new gritting control box and many more features. All of which will bring them bang up to date with all the new gritters being produced this year.
To mark the occasion, we are setting a competition to name the new gritting trucks, enabling you to follow the trucks through their journey to completion as they take on their new lease of life and finally go into service back in London. Send in your best name ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org!
The new truck names will be revealed in due course…
