Blood Swept Lands And Seas Of Red
Thursday 17th July 2014 was the date the first ceramic poppy was planted in the Tower of London moat. Since then, people have flocked in their millions from across the UK and around the world to visit the installation that was designed by ceramic artist, Paul Cummins.
The “Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red” display was created to mark the centenary of the start of World War One by November 12. There are now over 800,000 ceramic poppies at the Tower of London and Ground Control’s on-site garden team has been able to support the cause by volunteering at this incredible exhibition.
