Ground Control becomes first ever contractor to be awarded full Arb Association Utility Approval
Recognising high standards of tree works, safety and efficiency, the Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor scheme offers a benchmark for arboricultural contracting throughout the UK and Ireland. The scheme is increasingly required by local authorities and other large commercial organisations, acting as a quality mark assuring the client of good quality tree care undertaken safely and efficiently.
Ground Control has been a proud Approved Contractor for amenity works since 2014, now adding full utility approval which recognises high standards of tree works in the electrical, rail, waterway and road markets; prolific sectors for Ground Control.
The stringent assessment process involves four areas of examination, including worksite safety inspections, work quality inspections and arboricultural knowledge, customer care and office procedures, as well as health and safety management and workplace inspections.
Peter Allen, Ground Control’s Director of Arboriculture and Rail Services, commented;
“This accreditation is a fantastic recognition of the skills and professionalism of the Arb team, further cementing us as a leading player in our field. To be the first contractor to achieve this level of approval for utility works is a tremendous achievement! We are delighted to now be approved in 2 business areas; an excellent example of integrated working, which will provide yet more opportunities across the business. Huge thanks go to everyone involved for their hard work helping us achieve this great success.”
Stewart Wardrop, CEO of Arboricultural Association, commented;
“The Arboricultural Association was pleased to award Ground Control Utility Approved Contractor status, having successfully completed all four areas of their assessment. This is the only comprehensive accreditation scheme for Utility tree work in the UK and certifies approved businesses as experts in a range of work specific to the utility sector. We hope this achievement will inspire more contractors to follow suit and raise awareness of the technical complexities and expertise required to undertake utility tree work.”
